Nicole Paul, my best friend. I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT HER. I put that in caps because it is so true. This amazing woman has been through so much with me and this wedding. I am so happy she will be with me every step of the way including by my side in the Dominican. My best friend is an amazing young woman. She is kind, caring and gives everything she has to those she loves. We joke that we were twins in another life. I love this woman and look forward to being crazy old ladies together.
Chris: I Spent all morning (at work) organizing freinds and family at some of our favorite places to visit, and important places to us. Sent Heather and (now Maid of Honor) Nicole to a nail salon for some pampering. After work, while Heather and Nicole took a tour of our favorite spots, I set to meet her with the boys at the baseball field we shared our first date. Standing near the pitchers mound watching nervously as the boys escorted her out to me, I forgot everything I had carefully planned to say.... Just take the damn ring! - Secretly I worked with our planned photographer to be there to get some great photos of everything, and was able to surprise her again after dinner with the photos of the day.
Heather: One of the most memorable days of my life. I will forever love telling this story. So it's Mother's Day and my wonderful man has paid for my best friend and I to get mani-pedis together(always told him if he proposed my nails better look good). After our nails and toes are looking good my best friend Nicole proceeds to hand me some envelopes that have clues leading to different places that our special to Christopher and I. At each location is a person that has been a special part of our lives. The last clue lead me to a very special place that we went on our first date(told you it was the best date ever). As we arrive I see our wonderful sons all dressed up and ready to escort me to Christopher who wants on the pitchers mound. My heart overflows at this point and I can't wait to get to him. When I reach him he gets down on one knee and kinda just stares at me. Then he laughs and says "I completely forgot everything I wanted to say" I laugh because he always said he wouldn't be nervous or mess up like other guys did. He then asked me to marry him and I couldn"t get the ring on fast enough. We then went to dinner with all our friends and I got the final surprise of the day. Our photographer was there(I had no idea) and captured it all film. Christopher may not be Mr. Romance but he did the proposal perfectly.
Our story... wow it is an interesting one to say the least. Christopher and I met when we worked together at Wendy's oh so long ago. We were friends first(he was 16 and I was...older than him). We remained friends for three years and then he went away to college. He didn't talk to me the whole time he was away at college! When he returned from school he returned to Wendy's and we were still just friends. Then one night I had to call him to see if he could work and as we were talking he said something that had me speechless(which if you know me that is very rare). He told he had liked me and wanted to go out on a date! I was very shocked but excited. We went on our first date not long after that conversation and to this day it is the best date we have ever had. After that first date, we began to date and as they say the rest is history
Our two sons will be walking me down the isle for the big day and I couldn't be more proud of the two young men that God has blessed me with. Marquise, our oldest is kind, caring and has a very compassionate heart. He is very funny and loves to scare people(he inherited this from you Uncle John). He loves music and plans to pursue this as his life ambition. We are very proud of him.
Our youngest son, Tristen, is what I like to lovingly call spirited. It is his quality I love the most about him. He is not afraid to speak his mind and be himself. He also has a witty sense of humor and loves music. He will be the one to keep me grounded and smiling on the big day. He will also be making fun of me for crying.
Ahhhh my groom!! He is a wonderful man that I am very excited to finally call my husband. He is a very laid back and calm man which works well with my craziness. If you know Chris at all, you already know he is a huge YANKEES fan. I am already preparing to be watching them in the DR in the World Series. He has been a wonderful father to our two boys since the day we began dating oh so long ago. He is forever using movie quotes, which is a funny quality he passed on to our oldest son. He has an amazing smile which I never tire of seeing and I love to make him laugh( I am pretty funny). He is a very dedicated, hard worker and never fails to provide for his family. I couldn't imagine a life without him. I am very proud and blessed to marrying such a good man. I look forward to seeing him "let loose" in the Dominican!!
Hmmmm... A paragraph about Heather. Not sure I can scratch the surface with just a paragraph. SO I'll start with the first things I noticed about her a little over a DECADE ago...
She is a WONDERFUL mother - wholly devoted to our family and the boys (young men) she has allowed me to help raise. She has raised them by setting wonderful examples as she is a very hard worker, a good freind, and a truely honest person. She is very neat (wont say freak) and keeps our house liveable - as surely no one esle could, I mean there is clean and then there is "Heather Clean". We both love animals and have had a small zoo's worth in our home. Oh - she thinks she's funny - we laugh at her jokes, its just easier. :)
She is pretty much an open book - you very rarely have to ask what she's thinking or feeling as she will HAPPILY let you know...
And she cannot deny the stubborness that has been passed to our youngest son. (I mean a DECADE - some of the delay is my fault, sure, but basically I've had to kidnap her and take her to a tiny island far far away to finally make this happen)
Every person has flaws... Her cheering for the the Pittsburgh Steelers is bearable... only just... but her hatred of baseball... ugh.... Teach her you say? Re-read the above paragraph... But on our honeymoon/wedding vacation... she will be tuning into a Yankees World Series (Thank god she loves me)
Cannot imagine life without her by my side, so excited to finally make her my wife.
